Message from the President
Hello!
I am very excited to be writing my first official welcome as the 2009-2010 President of the IIDA Mid America Chapter. It's an exciting time to be involved as the Chapter continues to make huge strides towards existing events, while initiating new programs that focus on CEU's, Government & Regulatory Affairs and both Chapter and City Center programs.
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is an international professional networking and educational association with over 13,000 members, in nine specialty Forums, in nine Regions with more than thirty Chapters around the world. It is committed to enhancing the quality of life through excellence in interior design and the advancement of interior design through knowledge, value and community.
The Mid America Chapter of IIDA is energetic and growing quickly, covering two states, Kansas and Missouri, with three City Centers in Kansas City, St. Louis and Wichita. We are working hard to meet the needs of our area's professional, associate, industry and student members.
The Mid America Board of Directors will focus on strategic planning and the growth of our Chapter. This means listening to the needs of each of our City Centers and implementing ideas and practices that will serve our Members on a cohesive level. Our Board of Directors is committed to working hard to be the resource for Interior Designers in our community.
We are very excited to kick off the new term with exciting events in each City Center. Please continue to check the website for upcoming event information.
While the benefits that come through involvement in IIDA are numerous, I personally feel that IIDA brings a unique networking and relationship building opportunity to each individual involved. IIDA serves as a valuable resource to all membership types. The organization allows us to gain a higher level of industry knowledge and it also brings value and recognition to the design profession within the community.
Best,
Ali Skilling, Industry Member, IIDA
