Kansas City

The Kansas City City Center is comprised of enthusiastic and generous members who make IIDA a success by planning, attending and participating in monthly and annual programs.  With a commitment to providing educational and networking opportunities, as well as programs to allow area designers to showcase their creativity and talents, the KC City Center is excited to bring value to IIDA throughout the year.

Kansas City strives to support the Interior Design profession from students to seasoned professionals in many ways.  To serve as both an educational tool for designers and to contribute to professional members’ status, KC looks to provide five CEU lectures a year.  In order to aid designers in passing the NCIDQ exam, we have begun providing study sessions which will involve professionals talking about their experience with the exam and reviewing a different section of the test each class.  For students who are looking forward to their futures in Interior Design, Kansas City provides a Student Career Day in late winter.  This gives students a forum to talk to area designers and vendors about the different opportunities in the work force.

Kansas City also provides networking and design opportunities by featuring project tours throughout the year, membership drives, happy hours, a sponsor appreciation party and last, but not least, our annual event: Color + Couture.  This event allows area designers and manufacturers to showcase their talents and products by creating something beautiful, functional, creative, and artistic, then model it down a runway for the industry to see.

By supporting our members and their needs, we feel that their memberships and interest in the City Center’s activities will help aid in the vision for the future and provide IIDA with a significant presence in the Architectural and Design community.
