Meet The Board

President Elect

  • This role is the beginning of a 3 year commitment to IIDA.  President Elect is the President in training.  They shadow and work closely with the current President and Past President.  They help oversee all VP committees, as well as each City Center committee.  They are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the IIDA bylaws and standards, established at the National and Chapter levels.  In the absence of the President or in the event of his/her inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all of the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President. 

President

  • The President serves as the official representative of the Chapter in its contacts with governmental, civic, business and professional organizations to advance the purposes of the Chapter, and shall set the agenda for, and preside at, the Chapter’s annual membership meeting.  In general, the President performs all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Chapter Board of Directors from time to time.

Past President

  • The Immediate Past President is responsible for the strategic and long range planning activities of the Chapter and performs other duties as assigned by the President. These duties may include recommendation and supervision of committees that create programs and policies relating to Chapter issues. The Past President is responsible for maintaining continuity and has an opportunity to continue their service by joining the  CFAD board of directors following their term (every other year).

Membership

  • The Vice President of Membership is responsible for Member recruitment and retention, and Member benefits and services. The VP of Membership works toward building and maintaining membership for the chapter.  Their responsibilities include maintenance and evaluation of membership lists, communicating with new members and pending members, aiding in membership renewal and hosting membership events.

Advocacy

  • The Vice President of Advocacy is responsible for the legislative and regulatory issues and affairs of the Chapter, legislative and regulatory advocacy programs for the Chapter, professional practice issues and the Chapter bylaws and policy development.  These duties include recommendation and supervision of appropriate committees to formulate programs and recommend policies relating to those issues. 

Campus Relations

  • The Vice President of Campus Relations is responsible for the development and engagement of campuses in our region.  The VP of Campus Relations is a link to IIDA Headquarters for our campuses, leads the Campus Relations Committee, promotes the values of an IIDA student membership, organizes educational events focused for students, fosters the relationship between student to young professional, and connects with campuses to strengthen interior design programming. 

Communications

  • The Vice President of Communications is responsible for promotion of the Chapter and the interior design industry, official publications of the Chapter, oversight of the Chapter website and social media. Communications manages and coordinates the IIDA Mid America website, as well as weekly e-blasts through Constant Contact.  This role requires continuous coordination with all event coordinators to post all upcoming event information. 

Industry Relations

  • Vice President of Industry Relations is responsible for creating and distributing sponsorship materials and communication. The Vice President of Sponsorship tracks and reports on all sponsor and potential sponsor names, contact information, and donation allocations. The VP of Sponsorship is closely involved with special event committees to ensure sponsorship deliverables are successfully executed.

Signature Events

  • Vice President of Signature Events is responsible for overseeing the Chapter’s signature events in accordance with budget and revenue goals. The VP of Signature Events recommends and supervises the appropriate committees responsible for planning those events and programs including juried professional competitions and related award events.

Professional Dev.

  • The Vice President of Professional Development is responsible for development of Member professional education programs and conferences for the Chapter. These duties include recommendation and supervision of appropriate committees to coordinate programs. Current programs such as: Curated Connections, Develop You, NCIDQ Study Sessions and CEU presentations with Chapter sponsors.

KC City Center

  • Vice Presidents of City Centers is a catalyst and is responsible for establishing and overseeing their respective City Center(s). They supervise the structure and operation of all City Center Committees. They  represent the Chapter with leadership, organization, operations and programs within the City Center.
