Join IIDA Mid-America & Gateway for our annual Advocacy Day at the Capitol! Along with other Interior Designers, design students & affiliates from across Missouri, we’ll travel to Jefferson City to meet & mingle with state legislators. This is your opportunity to build relationships, discuss key issues, & educate others on what it means to be an Interior Designer. Initial plans include travel BY TRAIN from Lee’s Summit to Jefferson City & back to help minimize time away from the office (we can work on the train!) Transportation by train* & lunch will be provided.
Whether you're an experienced advocate or totally new to the process, this annual event is a great way to experience our capitol, learn about legislative advocacy, connect with other engaged citizens & will leave you feeling inspired to get involved! We hope you will join us!
*Train tickets will be purchased by the IIDA-MA Advocacy Committee for attendees as early as possible to secure the best rates. Should cancellation for any attendee become necessary for whatever reason, we kindly request reimbursement of travel fees incurred by the committee. Tentative times include departure from Lee’s Summit at 9am with arrival back to Lee’s Summit around 7:30pm. Attendees will be responsible for arranging transportation to & from the Amtrak station in Lee’s Summit, MO.
