The IIDA Mid-America Chapter is so excited for our new Big Design Gala (BDG) signature event on Friday, October 17, 2025. Teams will be given a box of surprise materials and have one week to create something innovative, resourceful, or aesthetically pleasing. Teams will need to work together to brainstorm ideas and refine their design in a short window. This challenge encourages teams to think outside the box and utilize their creativity. We are excited to announce that all team slots have been filled!

The team's final designs will be on display the night of the Big Design Gala at Czanne KC. The designs will be evaluated based on creativity, story, and overall visual impact. The panel of distinguished judges will perform the judging the night of the event. Awards include: People’s Choice Award, Best Narrative, Best Use of Materials and Best of Show. Tickets are expected to sell out, so don't wait!
